50% OFF Sale at the Buffalo Zoo’s Zootique Gift Shop!
Beginning Friday, November 26 through the end of the year, all items for sale in the Zootique (excluding elephant painted merchandise and the Women’s Board note cards and calendars) will be 50% off. Zootique carries wildlife-themed gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, house-warming, baby showers and many other special occasions!
It is open daily from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and can be accessed without paying a Zoo admission fee. In addition to being able to find unique items, shoppers are also supporting the Buffalo Zoo as revenue generated is used for the care and maintenance of the Zoo’s animal collection.
Please note that all sales are final and no other discounts will apply.

The Zoo All Year Through - 2011 Buffalo Zoo Calendar Available
The Women’s Board of the Buffalo Zoo is pleased to present the 2011 Buffalo Zoo Calendar. Showcasing some of the Zoo’s animal residents, this beautiful calendar features photos obtained from our annual photo contest. The calendar will keep you informed about Zoo happenings and contain fun facts about the animal pictured each month. It’s available for the low price of $13.00 and may be purchased in our Zootique gift shop. Or, call 995-6131 to place an order. We’ll be happy to mail you a calendar. Buffalo Zoo—Revised Hours
Buffalo, NY – Please note that the Buffalo Zoo is open daily from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The grounds remain open one hour after gates close.
However, there are some revisions regarding the Zoo’s holiday/winter hours:
Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 25): CLOSED
Christmas Eve (Friday, December 24): Admission gates close at 1:30 p.m.
Christmas Day (Saturday, December 25): CLOSED
New Year’s Eve (Friday, December 31): Admission gates close at 2:30 p.m.
New Year’s Day (Saturday, January 1): OPEN regular schedule (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
The Buffalo Zoo will also be CLOSED on Mondays and Tuesdays during the months of January and February.

BUFFALO ZOO OFFERS NEW HOLIDAY ANIMAL ENCOUNTER
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Pocus, one of the Zoo’s two male California sea lions, and his keepers. For $20 per person, each participant will have the chance to have a holiday photo taken with Pocus behind-the-scenes inside the holding area at NOCO’s Sea Lion Cove. Participants can choose to receive a kiss from Pocus or pose next to him as a “trainer” holding a target pole. Photos sessions will take place at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on the following weekend dates: November 13, 14, 20 and 21 and December 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19. The minimum age requirement for participants is 6 years. Each encounter is limited to 15 guests. Reservations can be made by calling the Zoo’s Switchboard Operator at (716) 837-3900 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tickets on Sale Now For Breakfast With Santa at the Buffalo Zoo
Buffalo, NY – Celebrate the holidays at the Buffalo Zoo with Santa and the Zoo animals!
Breakfast With Santa will take place on December 11, 12, 18 and 19. The event will be held twice each day, with the first breakfast beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the second commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pre-paid, non-refundable tickets are required due to limited seating.
The prices are $14 for adults and $12 for children. Zoo members will receive a $3 discount per ticket. Children under 24 months old will be admitted for free. (High chairs are not available.)
Each ticket includes a visit with Santa, a buffet breakfast catered by CJ’s Catering, the opportunity to meet some of the Zoo’s docents and animal ambassadors, admission to the Zoo for the day and a small prize for each child.

High Five For the Military Discount at the Buffalo Zoo Veterans Day, November 11, 2010
BUFFALO, NY— The Buffalo Zoo is offering a “High Five For the Military” discount on Veterans Day, November 11, 2010.
Members and retirees of the United States military will receive free admission. In addition, their group of up to five guests will be admitted to the Buffalo Zoo for $1.00 per person. A valid military ID must be presented at the admission gates to receive this discount.
